(Entry Levy) (Amendment)
Regulations 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 200 of the Casino Control Act, the Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Home Affairs, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Casino Control (Entry Levy) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 and come into operation on 28 January 2020.

Amendment of regulation 3

2. Regulation 3 of the Casino Control (Entry Levy) Regulations 2010 (G.N. No. S 52/2010) is amended by deleting paragraph (d) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(d)	by the transfer of e‑money (within the meaning given by the Payment Services Act 2019 (Act 2 of 2019)) to the casino operator’s payment account (within the meaning given by that Act).”.

Amendment of Schedule

3. The Schedule to the Casino Control (Entry Levy) Regulations 2010 is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “, retail outlet or licensed money‑changing business” in paragraph 4(a) and substituting the words “or retail outlet”;

(b)

by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (a) of paragraph 4, the following sub‑paragraph:

“(aa)

the provision of a money-changing service by a person licensed under the Payment Services Act 2019 to carry on a business of providing that service;”;

(c)

by inserting, immediately after the words “sub‑paragraphs (a),” in paragraph 4(e), “(aa),”;

(d)

by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (aa) of paragraph 7, the following sub‑paragraph:

“(ab)

an officer of the Singapore Food Agency acting in the discharge of his duties as an authorised officer under the Environmental Public Health Act, and designated by the Chief Executive of the Singapore Food Agency as requiring entry to the casino premises for that purpose;”; and

(e)

by deleting the words “and the Money‑changing and Remittance Businesses Act (Cap. 187)” in paragraph 7(b) and substituting the words “, the Monetary Authority of Singapore Act (Cap. 186) or the Payment Services Act 2019,”.
