Education Endowment and Savings Schemes
(Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards)
(Amendment) Regulations 2015
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24 of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act, Mr Ng Chee Meng, Senior Minister of State, charged with the responsibility of the Minister for Education (Schools), makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes (Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards) (Amendment) Regulations 2015 and are deemed to have come into operation on 1 November 2015.
Amendment of regulation 30
2.  Regulation 30(1) of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes (Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards) Regulations (Rg 4) is amended —
(a)by deleting “$5,000” in sub‑paragraph (c)(i) and substituting “$6,000”; and
(b)by deleting “$1,250” in sub‑paragraph (c)(ii) and substituting “$1,500”.
Amendment of regulation 34
3.  Regulation 34 of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes (Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards) Regulations is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “paragraph (2)” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “paragraphs (2) and (3)”; and
(b)by deleting paragraphs (2) and (3) and substituting the following paragraphs:
(2)  The total amount to be paid out under paragraph (1) from the income of the Endowment Fund to the Citizens’ Consultative Committee of any constituency or division of a group representation constituency in any financial year of the Endowment Fund commencing after 1 November 2015 —
(a)must not exceed 15% of the amount of the Edusave Merit Bursaries awarded in that financial year; but
(b)subject to sub‑paragraph (a), is to be determined by the Minister.
(3)  The total amount to be paid out under paragraph (1) from the income of the Endowment Fund to the Citizens’ Consultative Committee of any constituency or division of a group representation constituency in the period commencing on 1 November 2015 and ending on 31 March 2016 —
(a)must not exceed 15% of the amount of the Edusave Merit Bursaries awarded in that period; but
(b)subject to sub‑paragraph (a), is to be determined by the Minister.”.
