Muslim Marriage and Divorce
(Amendment) Rules 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 145 of the Administration of Muslim Law Act 1966, the President of Singapore makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Muslim Marriage and Divorce (Amendment) Rules 2023 and are deemed to have come into operation on 25 September 2023.

Amendment of rule 3A

2. In the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Rules (R 1), in rule 3A(3), replace sub‑paragraph (a) with —

“(a)	is organised by an organisation approved by a public officer authorised under rule 15(2)(a) of the Women’s Charter (Solemnisation and Registration of Marriages) Rules 2023 (G.N. No. S 635/2023);”.
