Probation of Offenders
(Amendment No. 2) Rules 2014

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13(1) of the Probation of Offenders Act, the Minister for Social and Family Development hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Rules may be cited as the Probation of Offenders (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2014 and shall, with the exception of rule 2(a) and (b), come into operation on 1 October 2014.

(2) Rule 2(a) and (b) shall come into operation on 1 January 2015.

Amendment of rule 3

2. Rule 3 of the Probation of Offenders Rules (R 1) is amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraph (a) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(a)	a representative of the Chief Justice, who shall be the Presiding Judge of the State Courts unless any other representative is appointed by the Chief Justice;”;

(b)

by deleting paragraph (c);

(c)

by deleting paragraph (e) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(e)	a judge of the Youth Court;”; and

(d)

by deleting the words “Juvenile Court” in paragraph (f) and substituting the words “Youth Court”.
