Legal Profession (Amendment) Rules 2001
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(3) of the Legal Profession Act, the Board of Legal Education hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Legal Profession (Amendment) Rules 2001 and shall come into operation on 2nd January 2002.
Amendment of rule 12
2.  Rule 12 of the Legal Profession Rules (R 3) (referred to in these Rules as the principal Rules) is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after the words “qualified person” in paragraph (1)(a), the words “and any other document as the Board may require”;
(b)by deleting the words “certificate (or certified copy thereof)” in the 2nd and 3rd lines of paragraph (2) and substituting the words “certificate or document (or certified copies thereof)”;
(c)by deleting the word “its” in the 4th line of paragraph (2) and substituting the word “their”; and
(d)by inserting, immediately after the word “certificate” in paragraph (2)(b), the words “and document”.
Deletion and substitution of rule 15
3.  Rule 15 of the principal Rules is deleted and the following rule substituted therefor:
Forms
15.—(1)  Every petition for admission under section 11 (1) (a) or 15(1) of the Act shall be in the appropriate version of Form B in the Schedule.
(2)  Every petition for admission under section 15(2) of the Act shall be in Form C in the Schedule.
(3)  The notice referred to in section 17(3) of the Act shall be in the appropriate version of Form D in the Schedule.
(4)  The affidavit referred to in section 17(4) of the Act shall be in the appropriate version of Form E in the Schedule.
(5)  The certificate of good character referred to in section 17(4)(b) of the Act shall be in the appropriate version of Form F in the Schedule.
(6)  The certificate of diligence referred to in section 17(4)(c) of the Act shall be in Form G in the Schedule.
(7)  The certificate from the Secretary of the Board referred to in section 17(4)(d) of the Act shall be in the appropriate version of Form H in the Schedule.
(8)  The certificate referred to in section 18(4)(b) of the Act shall be in Form I in the Schedule.
(9)  The certificate referred to in section 18(4)(c) of the Act shall be in Form J in the Schedule.
(10)  Where the circumstances of an applicant for admission are such that no version of Form B or Form E is applicable in his case, the petition and the affidavit referred to in section 17(4) of the Act to be filed by the applicant shall be in such form as the Board may approve.”.
Deletion and substitution of Schedule
4.  The Schedule to the principal Rules is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:
