Road Traffic (Collection of Toll at
Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints)
(Amendment) Rules 2014
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34D and 140(1) of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Collection of Toll at Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints) (Amendment) Rules 2014 and shall come into operation on 1 October 2014.
Amendment of rule 2
2.  Rule 2(1) of the Road Traffic (Collection of Toll at Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints) Rules (R 12) (referred to in these Rules as the principal Rules) is amended by deleting the full‑stop at the end of the definition of “vehicle entry fee” and substituting a semi‑colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following definition:
“ “vehicle entry permit” means the permit granted under Part IV of the Road Traffic (International Circulation) Rules.”.
Amendment of rule 3
3.  Rule 3 of the principal Rules is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (a) of paragraph (1), the following sub‑paragraph:
(aa)the Johore Bahru — Woodlands Causeway to enter Singapore;”;
(b)by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (a) of paragraph (2), the following sub‑paragraph:
(aa)in the case of paragraph (1)(aa) —
(i)for a motor vehicle in respect of which a vehicle entry permit is granted, at the Immigration Checkpoint at Woodlands or the Immigration Checkpoint at Tuas, before the driver of the motor vehicle leaves Singapore using the Johore Bahru — Woodlands Causeway or the Second Crossing, respectively; or
(ii)in any other case, at the Immigration Checkpoint at Woodlands after the driver of the motor vehicle uses the Johore Bahru — Woodlands Causeway;”;
(c)by deleting sub‑paragraph (c) of paragraph (2) and substituting the following sub‑paragraph:
(c)in the case of paragraph (1)(c) —
(i)for a motor vehicle in respect of which a vehicle entry permit is granted, at the Immigration Checkpoint at Woodlands or the Immigration Checkpoint at Tuas, before the driver of the motor vehicle leaves Singapore using the Johore Bahru — Woodlands Causeway or the Second Crossing, respectively; or
(ii)in any other case, at the Immigration Checkpoint at Tuas after the driver of the motor vehicle uses the Second Crossing.”; and
(d)by inserting, immediately after the words “Johore Bahru —Woodlands Causeway to leave” in paragraph (3), the words “or enter”.
Amendment of rule 8
4.  Rule 8 of the principal Rules is amended by inserting, immediately after the word “leave” in paragraph (a), the words “or enter”.
Deletion and substitution of Schedule
5.  The Schedule to the principal Rules is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:
