Arms and Explosives
(Exemption from Section 13) Order 2017
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 44B of the Arms and Explosives Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  This Order is the Arms and Explosives (Exemption from Section 13) Order 2017.
(2)  The period for which this Order is in force starts on 27 November 2017 and ends at 2359 hours on 2 January 2018.
Exemption
2.  A person is exempt from section 13 of the Act for possessing, controlling or using any arms or explosives if —
(a)the person possesses, controls or uses the arms or explosives in the course of an activity that is organised for the media by the Singapore Police Force on premises under the control of the Ministry of Home Affairs;
(b)the activity takes place during the period starting on 27 November 2017 and ending at 2359 hours on 2 January 2018;
(c)the arms or explosives are provided by a police officer;
(d)the person possesses, controls or uses the arms or explosives under the supervision of a police officer; and
(e)the Licensing Officer has received written notice containing the following information at least 24 hours (or such shorter period where the Licensing Officer is reasonably satisfied that earlier notice could not have been given) before the start of the activity:
(i)the date of the activity;
(ii)the list of persons who will be possessing, controlling or using the arms or explosives during the activity;
(iii)the media publications which the persons mentioned in sub‑paragraph (ii) represent.
