(Prevention of Avian Disease in
Non-Commercial Poultry)
(Amendment) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 59 and 80 of the Animals and Birds Act 1965, the Minister for National Development makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Rules are the Animals and Birds (Prevention of Avian Disease in Non-Commercial Poultry) (Amendment) Rules 2024 and, except for rule 2(c), come into operation on 29 August 2024.

(2) Rule 2(c) is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of rule 2

2. In the Animals and Birds (Prevention of Avian Disease in Non‑Commercial Poultry) Rules (R 12), in rule 2 —

(a)	in the definition of “non‑commercial poultry”, in paragraph (c), replace “Animals and Birds (Pet Shop and Exhibition) Rules (R 2)” with “Animals and Birds (Licensing of Premises for Pet Shop and Other Purposes) Rules (R 2)”;
(b)	in the definition of “pet shop”, replace “Animals and Birds (Pet Shop and Exhibition) Rules (R 2)” with “Animals and Birds (Licensing of Premises for Pet Shop and Other Purposes) Rules”; and
(c)	in the definition of “slaughter‑house”, replace “(Cap. 349A)” with “1999”.
