Merchant Shipping
(Fees) (Amendment No. 2)
Regulations 2011
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 213 of the Merchant Shipping Act, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Fees) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2011 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2012.
Amendment of Schedule
2.  Part III of the Schedule to the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations (Rg 17) is amended —
(a)by deleting sub-paragraphs (iii) and (iv) of item 1(a) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:
“
(iii)Class 4 or 4 (Special Limit)
 
$75.
(iv)Class 5 or 5 (Special Limit)
 
$65.
”;
(b)by deleting sub-paragraph (i) of item 1(b) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
“
(i)Class 1, 2, 3, 4 (Special Limit) or 5 (Special Limit)
 
$175.
”;
(c)by deleting sub-paragraph (ii) of item 2(a) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
“
(ii)Class 3, 4, 4 (Special Limit) or 5 (Special Limit)
 
$65.
”;
(d)by deleting sub-paragraph (ii) of item 2(b) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
“
(ii)Class 3, 4, 5, 4 (Special Limit) or 5 (Special Limit)
 
$90.
”;
(e)by inserting, immediately after item 3A, the following item:
“
3B.Application for a Certificate of Proficiency as able seafarer deck, able seafarer engine or electro-technical rating
 
$25.
”; and
(f)by deleting items 4, 5 and 6 and substituting the following items:
“
4.Issue or replacement of a Certificate of Competency or Service of any class, a WIG craft officer certificate, or a Certificate of Proficiency as able seafarer deck, able seafarer engine or electro-technical rating
 
$18.
5.Issue of a certificate of endorsement
 
$18.
6.Issue or replacement of a Certificate of Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats
 
$11.
