(Singapore Civil Defence Force Ambulance
Drivers) (Exemption) Order 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Road Traffic (Singapore Civil Defence Force Ambulance Drivers) (Exemption) Order 2017 and comes into operation on 1 December 2017.

Exemption

2. Section 120(3) of the Act does not apply to a member of the Singapore Civil Defence Force driving an ambulance registered to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, when that ambulance —

(a)	is responding to a call to an emergency telephone number; or
(b)	is transporting to a hospital any patient who suffers a condition that is likely to cause death or permanent disability unless the patient receives medical treatment immediately.
