Electricity (Contestable Consumers)
(Amendment) Regulations 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 41(1) and 103(1) of the Electricity Act, the Energy Market Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Trade and Industry, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Electricity (Contestable Consumers) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 and come into operation on 1 November 2018.
Amendment of regulation 3
2.  Regulation 3(1) of the Electricity (Contestable Consumers) Regulations 2018 (G.N. No. S 159/2018) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “the consumer has a contestable consumer account for those premises with an MSSL on the basis that”;
(b)by deleting sub‑paragraph (a) and substituting the following sub‑paragraph:
(a)the consumer has a contestable consumer account with an MSSL on the basis that —
(i)the subject premises are premises with any of the postal codes described in the first column of the Schedule; and
(ii)the contestable consumer account is opened on or after the date specified in the second column of the Schedule opposite those premises; or”; and
(c)by deleting the words “the subject premises are non‑residential premises” in sub‑paragraph (b) and substituting the words “the consumer has a contestable consumer account with an MSSL for those premises on the basis that the subject premises are non‑residential premises”.
New Schedule
3.  The Electricity (Contestable Consumers) Regulations 2018 are amended by inserting, immediately after regulation 9, the following Schedule:
