Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2003 and shall, with the exception of rule 3, come into operation on 14th February 2003.

(2) Rule 3 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st September 1998.

Amendment of Third Schedule

2. The Third Schedule to the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately below the index series “F FA FB FC, etc.”, the following index series:

“FBA FBB FBC FBD, etc.”;

(b)

by inserting, immediately below the index series “SDA SDB SDD SDE SDF SDG SDH SDJ SDK SDL SDM SDN SDP, etc.”, the following index series:

“SFA SFB SFC SFD, etc.”; and

(c)

by inserting, immediately below the index series “G GA GB GC, etc.”, the following index series:

“GBA GBB GBC GBD, etc”.

Amendment of Sixth Schedule

3. The Sixth Schedule to the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules is amended by deleting “$530” in the second column of item 7 (b) and substituting “$520”.
