Central Provident Fund (Self-employed Persons) (Amendment) Regulations 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77 (1)(a) and (e) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Self-Employed Persons) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and shall, with the exception of regulation 2(a) to (f), (h) and (j), come into operation on 1st January 2007.

(2) Regulation 2(a) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st January 1998.

(3) Regulation 2(b), (c) and (d) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st January 2004.

(4) Regulation 2(e) and (f) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st January 2005.

(5) Regulation 2(h) and (j) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st January 2006.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. The First Schedule to the Central Provident Fund (Self-Employed Persons) Regulations (Rg 25) is amended —

(a)	by inserting, immediately after the words “35 years of age” in item 6 (a) and (b), the words “on 1st January 1997”;
(b)	by deleting the words “or any subsequent year” in item 8 (a), (b) and (c);
(c)	by inserting, immediately after the words “35 years of age” in item 9 (a), the words “on 1st January 2004”;
(d)	by inserting, immediately after the words “45 years of age” in item 9 (b) and (c), the words “on 1st January 2004”;
(e)	by inserting, immediately after the words “35 years of age” in item 10 (a), the words “on 1st January 2005”;
(f)	by inserting, immediately after the words “45 years of age” in item 10 (b) and (c), the words “on 1st January 2005”;
(g)	by inserting, immediately after the words “31st December 2006” in item 11 under the heading “Period in respect of which contribution is payable”, the words “and every subsequent year beginning 1st January and ending 31st December”;
(h)	by inserting, immediately after the words “35 years of age” in item 11 (a), the words “on 1st January 2006”;
(i)	by inserting, immediately after the words “1st January 2006” in item 11 (a), the words “or 1st January of any subsequent year”;
(j)	by inserting, immediately after the words “45 years of age” in item 11 (b) and (c), the words “on 1st January 2006”; and
(k)	by inserting, immediately after the words “1st January 2006” in item 11 (b) and (c), the words “or 1st January of any subsequent year”. [G.N. Nos. S 28/98; S 37/2002; S 13/2003; S 368/2003; S 655/2003; S 799/2004; S 114/2005; S 827/2005]
