(Halal Certificates) (Amendment)
Rules 2014
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 88C of the Administration of Muslim Law Act, the Majlis Ugama Islam, Singapura, with the approval of the Minister for Communications and Information, charged with the responsibility for the portfolio of the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth relating to Muslim affairs, hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Administration of Muslim Law (Halal Certificates) (Amendment) Rules 2014 and shall come into operation on 1 November 2014.
Deletion and substitution of Schedule
2.  The Schedule to the Administration of Muslim Law (Halal Certificates) Rules (R 8) is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:

Savings
3.  Rule 2 does not apply to any application under section 88A(2) of the Act for a halal certificate in relation to any product, service or activity, or any application for approval under section 88A of the Act to use a specified halal certification mark, which is made to the Majlis before 1 November 2014; instead, the Schedule to the Administration of Muslim Law (Halal Certificates) Rules as in force immediately before 1 November 2014 shall continue to apply to any such application as if rule 2 had not been enacted.
