(Amendment of First and Second Schedules)
Order 2023
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 44(1) of the Debt Collection Act 2022, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Debt Collection Act 2022 (Amendment of First and Second Schedules) Order 2023 and comes into operation on 1 December 2023 at 12.01 a.m.
Amendment of First Schedule
2.  In the Debt Collection Act 2022, in the First Schedule, in Part 1 —
(a)in paragraph 1, after sub‑paragraph (e), insert —
(ea)an accounting corporation;
(eb)an accounting firm;
(ec)an accounting limited liability partnership;
(ed)a chartered accountant, when acting in that capacity;
(ee)a public accountant, when acting in that capacity;”; and
(b)in paragraph 2, before the definitions of “Joint Law Venture”, “licensed foreign law practice”, “Qualifying Foreign Law Practice”, “regulated legal practitioner”, “regulated non‑practitioner” and “Singapore law practice”, insert —
“ “accounting corporation”, “accounting firm”, “accounting limited liability partnership” and “public accountant” have the meanings given by section 2(1) of the Accountants Act 2004;
“chartered accountant” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority Act 2004;”.
Amendment of Second Schedule
3.  In the Debt Collection Act 2022, in the Second Schedule —
(a)in paragraph 1(a), after “308A,” insert “323,”; and
(b)after paragraph 3, insert —
3A.An offence under section 11(1)(a) of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act 1906.”.
