Regulations 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 20(2) of the Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment No. 2) Act 2018, the Minister for Law makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment No. 2) Act 2018 (Saving and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2018 and come into operation on 1 January 2019.
Definitions
2.  In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires —
“Amendment Act” means the Supreme Court of Judicature (Amendment No. 2) Act 2018 (Act 46 of 2018);
“principal Act” means the Supreme Court of Judicature Act (Cap. 322).
Matters that are non‑appealable or appealable only with leave
3.  Despite sections 5 and 17 of the Amendment Act, section 34 of, and the Fourth and Fifth Schedules to, the principal Act as in force immediately before 1 January 2019 continue to apply to an appeal brought to the Court of Appeal by a notice of appeal that is filed before that date.
Giving of further evidence on appeal
4.  Despite section 9 of the Amendment Act —
(a)section 37(3) and (4) of the principal Act as in force immediately before 1 January 2019 continues to apply to an appeal brought to the Court of Appeal by a notice of appeal that is filed before that date; and
(b)section 37(3) and (4) of the principal Act as in force immediately before 1 January 2019, read with section 22(2) of that Act, continues to apply to an appeal brought to the High Court by a notice of appeal that is filed before that date.
Appeal from order under section 74(1) of principal Act
5.  Section 11(a) of the Amendment Act does not apply to an appeal from an order under section 74(1) of the principal Act brought to the Court of Appeal by a notice of appeal that is filed before 1 January 2019.
