Consumer Protection (Fair Trading)
(Opt-Out Practices) (Amendment)
Regulations 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 20 of the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, the Minister for Trade and Industry makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) (Opt‑Out Practices) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 and come into operation on 1 October 2020.

Amendment of regulation 7

2. Regulation 7 of the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) (Opt‑Out Practices) Regulations 2009 (G.N. No. S 67/2009) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the words “supply of” in paragraph (1), the words “insurance cover under the CareShield Life Scheme,”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately before the definition of “Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme” in paragraph (2), the following definition:

“ “CareShield Life Scheme” means the severe disability insurance scheme called the CareShield Life Scheme established by section 5(1) of the CareShield Life and Long‑Term Care Act 2019 (Act 26 of 2019);”.
