(Fuel Economy and Vehicular Emissions
Labelling) (Amendment No. 2)
Regulations 2018

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 62 of the Energy Conservation Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Energy Conservation (Fuel Economy and Vehicular Emissions Labelling) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2018 and come into operation on 1 January 2019.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2(1) of the Energy Conservation (Fuel Economy and Vehicular Emissions Labelling) Regulations 2012 (G.N. No. S 307/2012) is amended by inserting, immediately before the definition of “EC Directive”, the following definitions:

“ “Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2017/1152” means the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1152 of 2 June 2017 setting out a methodology for determining the correlation parameters necessary for reflecting the change in the regulatory test procedure with regard to light commercial vehicles and amending Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 293/2012;

“Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2017/1153” means the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1153 of 2 June 2017 setting out a methodology for determining the correlation parameters necessary for reflecting the change in the regulatory test procedure and amending Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 1014/2010;”.

Amendment of regulation 3

3. Regulation 3(2) of the Energy Conservation (Fuel Economy and Vehicular Emissions Labelling) Regulations 2012 is amended —

(a)

by deleting sub‑paragraph (i) of sub‑paragraph (b) and substituting the following sub‑paragraph:

“(i)

for a light goods vehicle —

(A)	the fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions data of the model of light goods vehicle measured in accordance with the provisions of UNECE Regulation No. 101 or EC Directive 80/1268/EEC; or
(B)	the simulated fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions data of the model of light commercial vehicle determined in accordance with the provisions of Annex I of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2017/1152;”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after the words “EC Directive 80/1268/EEC” in sub‑paragraph (b)(ii)(A), the words “, or the simulated fuel consumption of the model of motor vehicle determined in accordance with the provisions of Annex I of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2017/1153”.
