(Amendment No. 2) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 34 of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Minister for Transport makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 14 February 2024.

Amendment of rule 12B

2. In the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5) (called in these Rules the principal Rules), in rule 12B —

(a)	in paragraph (3), replace “$71.94 (inclusive of GST)” with “$66”; and
(b)	in paragraph (6)(b), replace “$272.50 (inclusive of GST)” with “$250”.

Amendment of rule 34A

3. In the principal Rules, in rule 34A(3C)(b) and (7), replace “$38.15 (inclusive of GST)” with “$35”.

Amendment of rule 34B

4. In the principal Rules, in rule 34B(10)(b) —

(a)	in sub-paragraph (i)(A), replace “$272.50 (inclusive of GST)” with “$250”;
(b)	in sub-paragraph (i)(B), replace “$654 (inclusive of GST)” with “$600”; and
(c)	in sub-paragraph (ii), replace “$136.25 (inclusive of GST)” with “$125”.

Amendment of rule 34C

5. In the principal Rules, in rule 34C(10)(b) —

(a)	in sub-paragraph (i)(A), replace “$272.50 (inclusive of GST)” with “$250”;
(b)	in sub-paragraph (i)(B), replace “$654 (inclusive of GST)” with “$600”; and
(c)	in sub-paragraph (ii), replace “$136.25 (inclusive of GST)” with “$125”.

Amendment of rule 64B

6. In the principal Rules, in rule 64B(1)(a), replace “$29.43 (inclusive of GST)” with “$27”.
