5.—(1) The Licensing Officer may exempt any person or class of persons from the requirement for a licence to possess arms under section 13(1)(a) of the Act, where such possession is in connection with, and for the purpose of any of the following events:
(a)
carnivals;
(b)
business demonstrations;
(c)
school uniformed group activities;
(d)
shooting competitions or training for shooting competitions;
(e)
sporting events; and
(f)
trade fairs.
(2) An exemption under paragraph (1) may be granted subject to such conditions as the Licensing Officer thinks fit.
(3) An exemption under paragraph (1) shall only be effective for the duration of, and in the locality of the event in respect of which the exemption is granted.
(4) The Licensing Officer may, as he thinks fit, amend, suspend, revoke or reinstate an exemption under paragraph (1).
