(Lamppost as a Platform Trial — Exemption)
Order 2019
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 66 of the Active Mobility Act 2017, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:
Citation
1.  This Order is the Active Mobility (Lamppost as a Platform Trial — Exemption) Order 2019.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“Lamppost as a Platform Trial” means the trial conducted, between 13 May 2019 and 31 October 2019 (both dates inclusive), by ST Electronics under a contract with the Government Technology Agency established by section 3 of the Government Technology Agency Act 2016 (Act 23 of 2016);
“specified public paths” means any part of the shared path and footpath at One‑North starting from the vehicle drop‑off point of Symbiosis and running along Ayer Rajah Avenue, in the direction of the junction of Fusionopolis Way, Ayer Rajah Avenue and Ayer Rajah Crescent, for 35 metres;
“ST Electronics” means the company incorporated under the Companies Act (Cap. 50) as ST Electronics (Info‑Comm Systems) Pte. Ltd. (UEN 198601460K);
“Symbiosis” means the building known as Symbiosis Tower at 3 Fusionopolis Way, Singapore 138633;
“trial bicycle” means a bicycle that is leased by ST Electronics and is approved by the Authority for use during the Lamppost as a Platform Trial;
“trial personal mobility device” means a personal mobility device that is leased by ST Electronics and is approved by the Authority for use during the Lamppost as a Platform Trial;
“working day” means any day other than a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday.
Exemption for trial personal mobility device riders
3.  Sections 19(1), 20A, 21 and 28B(1) of the Act do not apply to an individual riding a trial personal mobility device on any of the specified public paths under the following conditions:
(a)the individual is authorised by ST Electronics to ride the trial personal mobility device;
(b)the trial personal mobility device is ridden only between 13 May 2019 and 31 October 2019 (both dates inclusive) and in connection with the Lamppost as a Platform Trial;
(c)ST Electronics gives at least 3 working days’ written notice to the Authority of each date and time that the trial personal mobility device will be ridden.
Exemption for ST Electronics
4.  Section 28B(2) of the Act does not apply to ST Electronics where it causes or permits an individual exempt under paragraph 3 to ride an unregistered registrable personal mobility device on any of the specified public paths.
Exemption for trial bicycle riders
5.  Section 21 of the Act does not apply to an individual riding a trial bicycle on any of the specified public paths under the following conditions:
(a)the individual is authorised by ST Electronics to ride the trial bicycle;
(b)the trial bicycle is ridden only between 13 May 2019 and 31 October 2019 (both dates inclusive) and in connection with the Lamppost as a Platform Trial;
(c)ST Electronics gives at least 3 working days’ written notice to the Authority of each date and time that the trial bicycle will be ridden.
