Requirements for occupier of sports venue for major sporting event
14.—(1)  An occupier of a sports venue where a major sporting event to which this Part applies takes place, or is to take place, must take all reasonably practicable measures —
(a)to comply with the following during the crowd management period of the major sporting event and with respect to the sports venue where the sporting event takes place or is to take place:
(i)the general physical distancing requirement;
(ii)the participant physical distancing requirement;
(iii)the contact tracing requirement;
(iv)the basic entry controls;
(v)the segregation requirement in regulation 4(1);
(vi)the cleaning requirement;
(vii)the major spectator sporting event capacity requirement in regulation 5(2) where the sporting event is a spectator sporting event;
(b)to ensure that during the crowd management period of the major sporting event —
(i)no food or drink is supplied or consumed at the participants’ area where the sporting event takes place or is to take place; and
(ii)no singing and no playing of a musical instrument are engaged in or provided by any one in the sports venue where the sporting event takes place or is to take place;
(c)to establish and maintain, during the crowd management period of the major sporting event, enhanced entry controls with respect to the sporting event where —
(i)the sports venue is a restricted place within the meaning of the Infectious Diseases (Mass Gathering Testing for Coronavirus Disease 2019) Regulations 2021; and
(ii)the approving authority gives a direction under regulation 19(3) requiring enhanced entry controls with respect to that sporting event;
(d)to ensure that any spectator attending the major sporting event is at least 2 metres away from any reserved playing space of the sports venue where the sporting activity is taking place;

(e)to ensure that the spectators’ area is at least 2 metres away from the boundary of any reserved playing space of the sports venue where the sporting activity is taking place;

(f)to ensure that every spectator during the period of the crowd management period of the major spectator sporting event —
(i)is seated in the spectators’ area, either alone or in a cohort that consists of 5 or fewer individuals in total who are either —
(A)all uncleared juniors all from the same household;
(B)all individuals each with a cleared status; or
(C)a mix of uncleared juniors (all from the same household) and other individuals each with a cleared status;

(ii)is at all times at least one metre away from any other individual in that spectators’ area or another cohort; and
(iii)is at all times at least 2 metres away from any athlete when participating in a sporting activity at the sporting event when measured from the edge of the reserved playing space on which the sporting activity takes place or is to take place; and

(g)to ensure that every direction given under regulation 19(3) with respect to that sporting event is complied with during the crowd management period of the sporting event.
(2)  However, paragraph (1)(b) does not apply to prevent the consumption of a drink in an emergency where the drink is necessary to preserve life or prevent injury or further injury.
