Out-patient medical treatment from approved home palliative care providers or in approved day hospices
9A.—(1) Subject to regulation 4, a member may withdraw moneys from the member’s medisave account for the payment of one or more of the following received by the member, or the member’s dependant, who suffers from any terminal illness:
(a)
medical treatment (other than any approved vaccination) received at home, on or after 1 January 2010, from an approved home palliative care provider;
(aa)

(b)
medical treatment (other than any approved vaccination) received as an out-patient, on or after 1 August 2016, in an approved day hospice.

(1A) Subject to paragraph (1B), the total amount that a member may withdraw under paragraph (1) —
(a)
must not exceed $2,500 per patient for all medical treatments mentioned in paragraph (1) that are received during the lifetime of the patient; and
(b)
must not exceed the total credit balance in the member’s medisave account.
(1B) The limit on withdrawal mentioned in paragraph (1A)(a) does not apply if the medical treatment concerned —
(a)
is received by the member; and
(b)
is in respect of such terminal illness as may be approved by the Minister for Health.
(2) Any withdrawal by a member under this regulation shall be subject to such terms and conditions as the Minister for Health may impose.
