Central Provident Fund
(Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme —
Uninsured Member) Notification 2019
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 42(2)(d) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification is the Central Provident Fund (Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme — Uninsured Member) Notification 2019 and comes into operation on 1 January 2020.
Members without certain contributions
2.  For the purpose of section 42(2)(d) of the Act, a member of the Fund is not insured under the Scheme if no contribution paid into the Fund for that member (before, on or after 1 January 2020) is or was a contribution payable under any of the following provisions:
(a)section 7 of the Act in respect of that member’s wages;
(b)section 9A of the Act in respect of that member’s income;
(c)section 9B of the Act in respect of any revenue payment to that member.

Member with pre-existing incapacity or serious illness
2A.  For the purpose of section 42(2)(d) of the Act, a member of the Fund is not insured under the Scheme if the member is incapacitated or suffering from serious illness before the date on which any contribution has been paid into the Fund for the member.

Cancellation
3.  The Central Provident Fund (Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme — Exemption) Notification 2013 (G.N. No. S 753/2013) is cancelled.
