Extradition (International Convention for the
Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism)
Notification 2017
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4(1)(b) of the Extradition Act read with section 13(5) of the Terrorism (Suppression of Misuse of Radioactive Material) Act 2017 (Act 27 of 2017), the Minister for Law makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification is the Extradition (International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism) Notification 2017 and comes into operation on 1 September 2017.
Application of Part II of Extradition Act to Convention countries
2.—(1)  For the purposes of the extradition of any person accused of or convicted of a relevant offence of any Convention country specified in the Schedule, Part II of the Extradition Act applies in relation to that Convention country, subject to section 13(6) of the Terrorism (Suppression of Misuse of Radioactive Material) Act 2017 (Act 27 of 2017).
(2)  In this paragraph, “Convention country” and “relevant offence” have the meanings given to those expressions in sections 2 and 13(8), respectively, of the Terrorism (Suppression of Misuse of Radioactive Material) Act 2017.
