Medical examination of persons arriving in or departing from Singapore
3.—(1)  For the purpose of identifying any person who is, or is suspected to be, a case or carrier or contact of an infectious disease specified in the First Schedule, unless the Director otherwise allows, any person arriving in or departing from Singapore (including any person arriving for the purpose of transit or transfer from one conveyance to another) shall undergo, at such place as the Director may direct, any or all of the following medical examinations:
(a)any examination of the ear, nose or mouth;
(b)any temperature assessment using an ear, oral or cutaneous thermometer, or thermal imaging;
(c)any medical inspection;
(d)any auscultation;
(e)any external palpation.

(2)  Any person who fails to comply with paragraph (1) shall be guilty of an offence.
(3)  The Director may appoint or authorise any person to assist him in the exercise of his functions and duties under paragraph (1), either generally or in a particular case.
