Reference to Assessment Board
30.—(1)  A member of the Corps who suffers any injury or the dependants of a member of the Corps who is killed and which injury or death is attributable solely to the discharge of his duty may, within 3 months of the occurrence of any such injury or death, make an application to the Commandant for any award of compensation to be paid by the Minister under section 15 of the Act.
(2)  The Commandant shall upon receipt of any application made by a member of the Corps or his dependants refer the application forthwith to the Assessment Board which shall make its recommendations to the Minister.
(3)  The Commandant may in his discretion entertain an application for an award of compensation which is not made within the period of 3 months from the date of occurrence of the death or injury suffered by a member of the Corps.
