Private Lotteries Act 2011

Private Lotteries (Guests of Society Member) Regulations 2011
In exercise of the powers conferred by the definition of “private lottery” in section 2 of the Private Lotteries Act 2011, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Private Lotteries (Guests of Society Member) Regulations 2011 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2011.
Prescribed number of guests
2.—(1)  Subject to paragraph (2), for the purpose of the definition of “private lottery” in section 2 of the Act, the number of guests of each society member to whom tickets or chances may be offered for sale at any time is 2 or fewer.
(2)  The guest of every member of a society —
(a)must be admitted onto the premises of the society in accordance with the rules of the society; and
(b)must be accompanied by the member at all times while participating in any lottery that the society has a valid permit to promote or conduct.
