Bus, Mrt and Lrt (Transfer Rebates) Notification

It is hereby notified for general information that, under section 20(1) of the Public Transport Council Act, the Public Transport Council has approved that, with effect from 1st June 2000, whenever any passenger —

(a)	makes use of a feeder bus service, intra-town bus service, trunk bus service, MRT service or LRT service;
(b)	makes a transfer as described in the Schedule between any of the services referred to in paragraph (a);
(c)	makes a transfer within 120 minutes of the start of the entire journey; and
(d)	pays for the whole of his journey using the same stored value farecard,

the passenger shall be entitled to the transfer rebates as specified in the Schedule, subject to a maximum of 3 consecutive transfers in each journey.

2.—(1) In this Notification —

“child” means a child above 90 cm and below 1.2 metres in height;

“LRT” is the abbreviation for the rapid transit system known as the Bukit Panjang Light Rapid Transit System;

“MRT” is the abbreviation for the rapid transit system known as the Mass Rapid Transit System;

“student” means a primary, secondary, pre-university or full-time ITE student who is eligible to hold, and who is in possession of, a valid concession card.

(2) For the purposes of paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Schedule —

(a)

a trunk bus service includes a Jurong Industrial Service and an Express Bus Service; and

(b)

an intra-town bus service shall be deemed to be —

(i)	a feeder bus service, if a passenger travels up to a designated integrated bus stop at or near a bus interchange or MRT station; or
(ii)	a trunk bus service, if a passenger travels beyond a designated integrated bus stop at or near a bus interchange or MRT station.
