Prescribed period for recognition of foreign driving licence of person who becomes citizen or permanent resident of Singapore or work pass driver
9A. For the purposes of section 38(3) of the Act and the definition of “prescribed period” in section 38(5) of the Act —
(a)
the prescribed period for a person referred to in section 38(3)(a) of the Act is 3 months, starting from the date on which the person is granted a certificate of citizenship under the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore or an entry permit under the Immigration Act (Cap. 133), whichever first happens; and
(b)
the prescribed period for a person referred to in section 38(3)(b) of the Act is 6 months, starting from the date on which the person is issued with a work pass under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act (Cap. 91A).
