Telecommunications Act 1999

Telecommunications (Exemption in Respect of Telecommunication Cable Detection Work) Order 1999
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 73 of the Telecommunications Act 1999, the Minister for Communications and Information Technology hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order may be cited as the Telecommunications (Exemption in respect of Telecommunication Cable Detection Work) Order 1999 and shall come into operation on 1st December 1999.
Exemption
2.  The following persons shall be exempted from Part V of the Act:
(a)any person who commences or carries out, or causes or permits the commencement or carrying out of, any earthworks with the approval of the Authority; and
(b)any person who commences or carries out any telecommunication cable detection work with the approval of the Authority.
