Restrictions on importation of telecommunication equipment
20.—(1)  Notwithstanding the grant of a Telecommunication Dealer’s Licence, no person shall import any telecommunication equipment without the prior approval of the Authority.
(2)  No approval shall be granted by the Authority under paragraph (1) for the import of any telecommunication equipment set out in the First Schedule except where approved by the Authority upon such terms and conditions as may be imposed.
(3)  A person applying for approval under paragraph (1) shall furnish such particulars as may be required by the Authority and shall have his permit issued under the Regulation of Imports and Exports Regulations (Cap. 272A, Rg 1) for the equipment endorsed by the Authority before such equipment is brought into Singapore.
(4)  No person shall —
(a)furnish false or misleading information to the Authority for the purpose of obtaining the approval of the Authority under paragraph (1); or
(b)falsify or fabricate any decision that the Authority may make upon the application for approval under paragraph (1).
(5)  Where any person furnishes any false or misleading information to the Authority for the purpose of obtaining the approval of the Authority or falsifies or fabricates any decision that the Authority may make upon the application for approval, the approval shall be null and void.
