Rules 2011
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 50(3A) of the Women’s Charter, MG (NS) Chan Chun Sing, Minister of State, charged with the responsibility of the Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Women’s Charter (Mediation and Counselling) (Prescribed Persons) Rules 2011 and shall come into operation on 26th September 2011.
Prescribed persons required to attend mediation or counselling
2.—(1)  The class of persons prescribed under section 50(3A) of the Act comprises both parties to any proceedings under Part X of the Act commenced in respect of the parties’ marriage, in any case where —
(a)the proceedings are commenced on or after 26 September 2011 but before 1 July 2013, and the parties have at least one child of the marriage who is below the age of 8 years at the time the proceedings are commenced;
(b)the proceedings are commenced on or after 1 July 2013 but before 1 October 2014, and the parties have at least one child of the marriage who is below the age of 14 years at the time the proceedings are commenced; or
(c)the proceedings are commenced on or after 1 October 2014, and the parties have at least one child of the marriage who is below the age of 21 years at the time the proceedings are commenced.

(2)  In this rule, “child of the marriage” has the same meaning as in section 92 of the Act.
