(Amendment) Regulations 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1) of the Central Provident Fund Act 1953, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Approved HDB-HUDC Housing Scheme) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and, except for regulation 4, come into operation on 1 April 2024.

(2) Regulation 4(n) is deemed to have come into operation on 1 March 2021.

(3) Regulation 4(a) to (m) and (o) to (s) is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of regulation 9

2. In the Central Provident Fund (Approved HDB‑HUDC Housing Scheme) Regulations (Rg 14) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations), in regulation 9(1)(ii), replace “or (c) of the Act” with “of the Act or a former provision”.

Amendment of Schedule

3. In the principal Regulations, in the Schedule, before item 1, insert —

“

1A.	Regulation 9(1)(ii)

Section 15(2)(b) or (c) of the Act as in force before 1 April 2024

”.

Miscellaneous amendments

4. In the principal Regulations —

(a)

in regulation 2(1), in the definition of “approved mortgagee”, in paragraph (a), replace “(Cap. 183)” with “1959”;

(b)

in regulation 2(1), in the definition of “approved mortgagee”, in paragraph (c), replace “(Cap. 50)” with “1967”;

(c)

in the following provisions, replace “(Cap. 158)” with “1967”:

(r)

in regulation 13(1), replace “section 47 of the Housing and Development Act (Cap. 129)” with “section 50 of the Housing and Development Act 1959”; and

(s)

in regulation 15A(1), replace “27E(2)(ii)” with “27E(2)(e)”.
