(OCBC Cycle 2024 —
Exemption) (No. 2) Order 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and period in force
1.—(1)  This Order is the Road Traffic (OCBC Cycle 2024 — Exemption) (No. 2) Order 2024.
(2)  This Order is in force on 11 and 12 May 2024.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“specified event” means the OCBC Cycle 2024 event organised by PICH Event Management Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201420877R) on 11 and 12 May 2024;
“specified road” means any of the roads delineated by the black‑coloured lines in the maps set out in the Schedule.
Exemption for riding bicycle
3.  Rules 5, 6, 7, 7A, 8, 10 and 11 of the Road Traffic (Bicycles, Three-wheeled Pedal Cycles, Trishaws and Recumbent Devices — Road Conduct) Rules (R 3) do not apply to an individual who rides a bicycle on a specified road during and for the purpose of the specified event under the following conditions:
(a)the individual is registered with PICH Event Management Pte. Ltd. as a participant of the specified event;
(b)there is in force, at any time the bicycle is ridden during and for the purpose of the specified event, a policy of insurance in relation to the bicycle insuring against any liability in respect of —
(i)the death of or bodily injury sustained by any person (other than the rider of the bicycle); and
(ii)any property damage suffered by any person (other than the rider of the bicycle),
caused by or arising out of the use of the bicycle;
(c)the risk under the policy of insurance mentioned in sub‑paragraph (b) is assumed by an insurer who, at the time the policy is issued, is lawfully carrying on an insurance business in Singapore.
