Public Trustee (Fees)
(Amendment) Rules 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 18(1) and 23 of the Public Trustee Act 1915, the Minister for Law makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Rules are the Public Trustee (Fees) (Amendment) Rules 2022 and, except for rules 2(a)(ii), (iii), (iv) and (v), (b)(ii), (iii) and (iv) and (c)(ii), (iii) and (iv) and 3, come into operation on 1 December 2022.

(2) Rules 2(a)(ii), (iii), (iv) and (v), (b)(ii), (iii) and (iv) and (c)(ii), (iii) and (iv) and 3 are deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of rule 4

2. In rule 4 of the Public Trustee (Fees) Rules 2010 (G.N. No. S 248/2010) —

(a)

in paragraph (1) —

(i)	replace “section 25(2) or (3)” with “section 25(3) or 25A(1)”;
(ii)	replace “(Cap. 36)” with “1953”;
(iii)	replace “section 16 of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act (Cap. 87A)” with “section 18 of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act 1992”;
(iv)	replace “section 16H of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act” with “section 27 of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act 1992”; and
(v)	replace “(Cap. 38A)” with “2001”;

(b)

in paragraph (2) —

(i)	replace “section 25(2)” with “section 25A(1)”;
(ii)	after “Central Provident Fund Act”, insert “1953”;
(iii)	replace “section 16 or 16H of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act” with “section 18 or 27 of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act 1992”; and
(iv)	after “Child Development Co‑Savings Act”, insert “2001”; and

(c)

in paragraph (3) —

(i)	replace “section 25(2) or (3)” (wherever it appears) with “section 25(3) or 25A(1)”;
(ii)	after “Central Provident Fund Act” (wherever it appears), insert “1953”;
(iii)	replace “section 16 or 16H of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act” (wherever it appears) with “section 18 or 27 of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act 1992”; and
(iv)	after “Child Development Co‑Savings Act” (wherever it appears), insert “2001”.

Amendment of rule 5

3. In rule 5 of the Public Trustee (Fees) Rules 2010 —

(a)	in paragraph (1), replace “(Cap. 189)” with “1960”; and
(b)	in paragraph (2), after “Motor Vehicles (Third‑Party Risks and Compensation) Act”, insert “1960”.
