An Act to amend the Stamp Ordinance (Chapter 170 of the Revised Edition). |
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: — |
Short title and commencement |
1. This Act may be cited as the Stamp (Amendment) Act, 1970, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint. |
Amendment of section 2 |
2. Section 2 of the Stamp Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting immediately before the definition of “appraisement” appearing therein the following new definition: —

Amendment of section 7 |
3. Subsection (4) of section 7 of the Stamp Ordinance is hereby amended by deleting the expression “or for any postal purpose,” appearing in the ninth and tenth lines thereof. |
Repeal of sections 70, 71 and 72 |
4. Sections 70, 71 and 72 of the Stamp Ordinance are hereby repealed. |
