Stamp (Amendment) Bill

An Act to amend the Stamp Ordinance (Chapter 170 of the Revised Edition).
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: —
Short title and commencement
1.  This Act may be cited as the Stamp (Amendment) Act, 1970, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
Amendment of section 2
2.  Section 2 of the Stamp Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting immediately before the definition of “appraisement” appearing therein the following new definition: —
“ “adhesive stamp” means any stamp authorised by the Commissioner for the purposes of this Ordinance;”.
Amendment of section 7
3.  Subsection (4) of section 7 of the Stamp Ordinance is hereby amended by deleting the expression “or for any postal purpose,” appearing in the ninth and tenth lines thereof.
Repeal of sections 70, 71 and 72
4.  Sections 70, 71 and 72 of the Stamp Ordinance are hereby repealed.
