Misuse of Drugs Act 1973
(Amendment of First and Third Schedules)
Order 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 59 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973 (Amendment of First and Third Schedules) Order 2024 and comes into operation on 1 June 2024.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. In the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, in the First Schedule —

(a)

in Part 1, in paragraph 16, after item (8AB), insert —

“(8AC)

1-(3-Chlorophenyl)-2-(methylamino)propan-1-one (also known as 3-chloromethcathinone or 3‑CMC)”;

(b)

in Part 1, in paragraph 18, after item (1), insert —

“(1AA)

N-(1-Amino-3,3-dimethyl-1-oxobutan-2-yl)-1H-indazole-3-carboxamide (also known as ADB-INACA or ADMB-INACA) and its N‑(1‑amino‑1‑oxohexan‑2‑yl) isomers”;

(c)

in Part 1, in paragraph 18, replace item (16A) with —

Amendment of Third Schedule

3. In the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, in the Third Schedule, in Part 1, in paragraph 1 —

(a)

after the item “3-(1,3-Benzodioxol-5-yl)-2-methyl-2-oxiranecarboxylic acid also known as 3,4-MDP-2-P methyl glycidic acid or PMK glycidic acid”, insert —

“Butan-2-yl 3-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-2-methyl-2-oxiranecarboxylate also known as 3,4‑MDP‑2‑P methyl glycidic acid, sec‑butyl ester

Butyl 3-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-2-methyl-2-oxiranecarboxylate also known as 3,4-MDP-2-P methyl glycidic acid, butyl ester”;

(b)

after the item “Ergotamine also known as 12’-Hydroxy-2’-methyl-5’α-(phenymethyl) ergotaman-3’,6’,18’-trinone”, insert —

after the item “Safrole also known as 4-Allyl-1,2-methylenedioxybenzene”, insert —

“tert-Butyl 3-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-2-methyl-2-oxiranecarboxylate also known as 3,4-MDP-2-P methyl glycidic acid, tert-butyl ester”.
