Parliamentary Elections
(Composition of Offences)
(Amendment) Regulations 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 109(2) of the Parliamentary Elections Act 1954, the Prime Minister makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Parliamentary Elections (Composition of Offences) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and come into operation on 14 June 2024.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. In the Parliamentary Elections (Composition of Offences) Regulations 2006 (G.N. No. S 233/2006), in regulation 2 —

(a)

in paragraphs (a), (b) and (e), after “Act”, insert “as in force immediately before 14 June 2024”;

(b)

in paragraphs (b) and (e), after “(Rg 3)”, insert “revoked on 14 June 2024”;

(c)

after paragraph (b), insert —

“(ba)

any corrupt practice under section 61B(1) or (2) of the Act;”;

(d)

in paragraph (c), after “section”, insert “61C(1) or (2), 61E(1), 61F(2), 61G(2), 61H(1), 61I(1), 61J(1), 61N(2), 61O(2),”;

(e)

in paragraph (c), delete “78B(3),”;

(f)

after paragraph (c), insert —

“(ca)

any offence under section 78B(3) of the Act as in force immediately before 14 June 2024;”;

(g)

in paragraph (f), delete “and” at the end;

(h)

in paragraph (g), after “Regulations”, insert “revoked on 14 June 2024”;

(i)

in paragraph (g), replace the full-stop at the end with a semi‑colon; and

(j)

after paragraph (g), insert —

“(h)	any offence under regulation 9(1), 12(1), 13(5), 14(1), 15(3) or 17(4) of the Parliamentary Elections (Election Advertising) Regulations 2024 (G.N. No. S 450/2024).”.
