(Amendment) Regulations 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 58(1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Regulations are the Misuse of Drugs (Authorised Dissemination or Publication of Information) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and, except for regulation 3, come into operation on 1 June 2024.

(2) Regulation 3 is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of regulation 3

2. In the Misuse of Drugs (Authorised Dissemination or Publication of Information) Regulations 2019 (G.N. No. S 521/2019), in regulation 3 —

(a)	replace “section 11D(2)” with “sections 11D(2) and 11P(2)”; and
(b)	after “section 11D(1)”, insert “or 11P(1)”.

Miscellaneous amendments

3. In the Misuse of Drugs (Authorised Dissemination or Publication of Information) Regulations 2019 —

(a)	in regulation 2, in the definition of “arts entertainment”, replace “(Cap. 257)” with “1958”;
(b)	in regulation 2, in the definition of “Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer”, after “Public Entertainments Act”, insert “1958”;
(c)	in regulation 2, in the definition of “Committee of Appeal”, replace “(Cap. 107)” with “1981”;
(d)	in regulation 2, in the definitions of “distribute”, “exhibit” and “film content assessor”, after “Films Act”, insert “1981”;
(e)	in regulation 2, in the definition of “Info‑communications Media Development Authority”, delete “(Act 22 of 2016)”;
(f)	in regulation 3(a) and (b), after “Public Entertainments Act”, insert “1958”;
(g)	in regulation 3(c), replace “(Cap. 28)” with “1994”; and
(h)	in regulation 3(d) and (e), after “Films Act”, insert “1981”.
