Savings Schemes (Edusave Pupils Fund)
(Amendment) Regulations 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 35(1) of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act 1992, the Minister for Education makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes (Edusave Pupils Fund) (Amendment) Regulations 2023 and come into operation on 1 January 2024.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. In the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes (Edusave Pupils Fund) Regulations (Rg 1), in regulation 2(1) —

(a)

delete the definitions of “additional miscellaneous fees”, “second‑tier miscellaneous fees” and “standard miscellaneous fees”;

(b)

after the definition of “member”, insert —

“ “miscellaneous fees” consists of all or any of the fees payable under regulation 91(1)(c) and (ca) of the Education (Schools) Regulations (Rg 1);”; and

(c)

in the definition of “specified educational institution”, replace the semi‑colon at the end with a full‑stop.

Amendment of regulation 5

3. In the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes (Edusave Pupils Fund) Regulations, in regulation 5 —

(a)

in paragraph (a), delete “and standard miscellaneous fees”; and

(b)

replace paragraph (b) with —

“(b)	where the member is a student of any Government school or Government‑aided school, the miscellaneous fees payable by him to the school;”.
