Town Councils Act
(Chapter 329A)
Town Council of Aljunied (Common Property and Open Spaces) (Amendment) By-laws 2002
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(1) of the Town Councils Act, the Town Council for the Town of Aljunied hereby makes the following By-laws:
Citation and commencement
1.  These By-laws may be cited as the Town Council of Aljunied (Common Property and Open Spaces) (Amendment) By-laws 2002 and shall come into operation on 26th April 2002.
Deletion and substitution of by-law 16
2.  By-law 16 of the Town Council of Aljunied (Common Property and Open Spaces) By-laws (By 41) (referred to in these By-laws as the principal By-laws) is deleted and the following by-law substituted therefor:
Diversion of water or electricity
16.  No person shall, except with the prior written permission of the Town Council, draw, divert or take —
(a)any water from any tap, pipe or water service installation for the supply of water situated on any common property; or
(b)any electricity from any socket, electrical supply line or electrical installation for the supply of electricity situated on any common property.”.
New by-law 17A
3.  The principal By-laws are amended by inserting, immediately after by-law 17, the following by-law:
Trespassing onto lift motor rooms, etc.
17A.  No person shall, except with the prior written permission of the Town Council, enter any lift motor room or any other common property, being a fenced enclosure, building or room, in which any installation for the use or supply of water or electricity may be situated.”.
New by-law 21
4.  The principal By-laws are amended by inserting, immediately after by-law 20, the following by-law:
Application of By-laws to any area of former Town of Cheng San
21.  With effect from 1st February 2002, these By-laws shall apply to any area of the former Town of Cheng San which is now comprised in the Town of Aljunied by virtue of the Town Councils (Declaration of Towns) Order 2001 (G.N. No. S 563/2001).”.
