In exercise of the powers conferred by section 62 of the Biological Agents and Toxins Act 2005, the Minister for Health makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Biological Agents and Toxins Act 2005 (Amendment of First Schedule) Order 2023 and comes into operation on 14 February 2023.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. In the Biological Agents and Toxins Act 2005, in the First Schedule, in Part 2, under the heading “VIRUSES”, in item 4(a), after “Monkeypox virus”, insert “, also known as mpox virus”.
