Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Garbage) (Amendment) Regulations 2005

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 34 of the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea Act, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Garbage) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 and shall come into operation on 1st August 2005.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. The First Schedule to the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Garbage) Regulations (Rg 7) is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “Paper products” in item 4 in paragraph 3 under the heading “FORM OF GARBAGE RECORD BOOK” and substituting the words “Cargo residues, paper products”;
(b)	by inserting, immediately after the words “(latitude and longitude)” in paragraph 4.1 (a)(ii) under the heading “FORM OF GARBAGE RECORD BOOK”, the words “, and start and stop positions for discharges of cargo residues”;
(c)	by deleting the words “Paper products” in item 4 under the heading “RECORD OF GARBAGE DISCHARGES” and substituting the words “Cargo residues, paper products”; and
(d)	by inserting, immediately after the words “TOTAL ESTIMATED AMOUNT.” in NOTE under the heading “RECORD OF GARBAGE DISCHARGES”, the words “DISCHARGES OF CARGO RESIDUES REQUIRE START AND STOP POSITIONS TO BE RECORDED.”. [G.N. No. S 95/2002]
