(Exemptions) (Amendment)
Order 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16A of the Public Entertainments Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Public Entertainments (Exemptions) (Amendment) Order 2021 and comes into operation on 10 August 2021.
Amendment of paragraph 2
2.  Paragraph 2 of the Public Entertainments (Exemptions) Order (O 1) is amended by inserting, immediately after the definition of “fun fair”, the following definition:
“ “golf simulator centre” means any place to which the public or any class of the public has access, whether gratuitously or otherwise, for the primary purpose of practising or coaching golf, or carrying out golf club fitting, through the use of any computer‑generated simulation;”.
Amendment of paragraph 3
3.  Paragraph 3 of the Public Entertainments (Exemptions) Order is amended by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (9D), the following sub‑paragraph:
Golf simulator centres
(9E)  Any golf simulator centre is exempted from the Act if all of the following conditions are complied with:
(a)no other form of public entertainment within the meaning of the Act is offered within the golf simulator centre;
(b)no gambling or betting takes place in the golf simulator centre;
(c)a sign prohibiting gambling and betting at the golf simulator centre is displayed in a conspicuous place inside the golf simulator centre.”.
