Prevention of Pollution of the Sea
(Miscellaneous Amendments)
Regulations 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 34(1) of the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea Act 1990, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2023 and come into operation on 1 January 2024.

Amendment of Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Reception Facilities and Garbage Facilities) Regulations

2. In the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Reception Facilities and Garbage Facilities) Regulations (Rg 4) —

(a)

delete regulation 14;

(b)

in the Schedule, replace the Schedule reference with —

“Regulation 13”;

(c)

in the Schedule, in item 1(i), in the second column, replace “$972” with “$981”;

(d)

in the Schedule, in item 1(ii), in the second column, replace “$1,296” with “$1,308”;

(e)

in the Schedule, in item 2(a)(ii), in the second column, replace “$486” with “$490.50”; and

(f)

in the Schedule, in item 2(b), in the second column, replace “$324” with “$327”.

Amendment of Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Sewage) Regulations 2005

3. In the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Sewage) Regulations 2005 (G.N. No. S 135/2005) —

(a)

delete regulation 13;

(b)

in the Second Schedule, replace the Schedule reference with —

“Regulation 12”; and

(c)

in the Second Schedule, in item 5, replace “$15.12” with “$15.26”.

Amendment of Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Oil) Regulations 2006

4. In the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Oil) Regulations 2006 (G.N. No. S 685/2006) —

(a)

delete regulation 11A;

(b)

in the Second Schedule, replace the Schedule reference with —

“Regulation 11”; and

(c)

in the Second Schedule, in item 5, replace “$15.12” with “$15.26”.

Amendment of Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk) Regulations 2006

5. In the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk) Regulations 2006 (G.N. No. S 686/2006) —

(a)

delete regulation 12A;

(b)

in the Third Schedule, replace the Schedule reference with —

“Regulation 12”;

(c)

in the Third Schedule, in item 5, replace “$15.12” with “$15.26”; and

(d)

in the Third Schedule, in item 7, replace “$156.60” with “$158.05”.

Amendment of Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Harmful Anti‑Fouling Systems) Regulations 2010

6. In the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Harmful Anti‑Fouling Systems) Regulations 2010 (G.N. No. S 198/2010) —

(a)	delete regulation 15; and
(b)	in the Fourth Schedule, in item 5, in the second column, replace “$15.12” with “$15.26”.

Amendment of Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Ballast Water Management) Regulations 2017

7. In the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Ballast Water Management) Regulations 2017 (G.N. No. S 504/2017) —

(a)

delete regulation 18;

(b)

in the Fourth Schedule, replace the Schedule reference with —

“Regulation 17”; and

(c)

in the Fourth Schedule, in item 5, in the second column, replace “$15.12” with “$15.26”.

Amendment of Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Air) Regulations 2022

8. In the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Air) Regulations 2022 (G.N. No. S 837/2022) —

(a)

delete regulation 10A;

(b)

in the Second Schedule, replace the Schedule reference with —

“Regulation 10”; and

(c)

in the Second Schedule, in item 5, in the second column, replace “$15.12” with “$15.26”.
