Fire Safety (Fire Certificate —
Designated Buildings) (Amendment)
Notification 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 35(1) of the Fire Safety Act 1993, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification is the Fire Safety (Fire Certificate — Designated Buildings) (Amendment) Notification 2023 and is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Miscellaneous amendments

2. In the Fire Safety (Fire Certificate — Designated Buildings) Notification 2020 (G.N. No. S 766/2020) —

(a)

in the following provisions, replace “section 20” with “section 35”:

Paragraph 2

Paragraph 3;

(b)

in paragraph 3(a)(i), delete “(Act 5 of 2018)”;

(c)

in paragraph 3(b), replace “(Cap. 247)” with “1933”;

(d)

in paragraph 3(c), replace “(Cap. 82A)” with “2005”;

(e)

in paragraph 3(d), after “Diplomatic and Consular Relations Act”, insert “2005”;

(f)

in the Schedule, in Part 1, in paragraph 1, in the definitions of “boarding premises” and “foreign employee”, delete “(Act 3 of 2015)”;

(g)

in the Schedule, in Part 1, in paragraph 1, in the definition of “HDB flat”, replace “Part IV or IVB of the Housing and Development Act (Cap. 129)” with “Part 4 or 4B of the Housing and Development Act 1959”; and

(h)

in the Schedule, in Part 2, in the Part heading, replace “SECTION 20” with “SECTION 35”.
