Fire Safety Act
(Chapter 109A)
Fire Safety (Petroleum) (Amendment) Regulations 2003
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 61(1) of the Fire Safety Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Fire Safety (Petroleum) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into operation on 1st September 2003.
Amendment of regulation 29
2.  Regulation 29 of the Fire Safety (Petroleum) Regulations (Rg 7) is amended by deleting the word “and” at the end of paragraph (l); and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraphs:
(la)that, upon the receipt of a notice from the Commissioner requiring the use of security barriers at the petroleum filling station, security barriers in the form of permanent and removable bollards with thick chains are acquired within 24 hours from the receipt of such notice and that such barriers are installed and used at all entrances and exits of the petroleum filling station during all refilling operations involving tankers, until further notice from the Commissioner;
(lb)that all access points to all underground petrol storage tanks within the petroleum filling station are secured by means of locking devices or other security measures to prevent unauthorised access;
(lc)that sufficient numbers of close circuit cameras are installed at the petroleum filling station to cover the forecourt, backcourt, workshop, dispensing areas and other critical areas of the petroleum filling station; and”.
Amendment of Second Schedule
3.  Item 1 of the Second Schedule to the Fire Safety (Petroleum) Regulations is amended —
(a)by deleting sub-paragraph (iii) of paragraph (b); and
(b)by deleting sub-paragraph (iii) of paragraph (c).
