Education Endowment Scheme (Edusave Pupils Fund) (Amendment) Regulations 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(f) of the Education Endowment Scheme Act, the Minister for Education hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education Endowment Scheme (Edusave Pupils Fund) (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st October 2001.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2 of the Education Endowment Scheme (Edusave Pupils Fund) Regulations (Rg 4) is amended by deleting the definition of “institution of higher learning” and substituting the following definition:

“ “institution of higher learning” means —

(a)	any polytechnic or university established under any written law in Singapore; and
(b)	any other educational institution which offers any course leading to a diploma or degree, as the Minister may approve;”.

Amendment of regulation 8

3. Regulation 8 of the Education Endowment Scheme (Edusave Pupils Fund) Regulations is amended by deleting the words “institute of higher learning” in the penultimate line of paragraph (1) and in the 3rd line of paragraph (2) and substituting in each case the words “institution of higher learning”.
