(Admission) (Amendment)
Rules 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24 of the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Act 1967, the Council of the Ngee Ann Polytechnic, with the approval of the Minister for Education, makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Admission) (Amendment) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 1 April 2024.
Replacement of rule 4
2.  In the Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Admission) Rules (R 5) (called in these Rules the principal Rules), replace rule 4 with —
Payment of fees and charges
4.—(1)  A person who has been granted admission to the Polytechnic must pay all tuition fees and other fees or charges levied by the Polytechnic.
(2)  If any fee or charge payable under paragraph (1) is not paid in full by the person by the date on which the payment is due, the Polytechnic may levy a late payment charge.
(3)  The Polytechnic may waive or refund, wholly or partially, any fee or charge payable or paid under paragraph (1) or (2).”.
Amendment of rule 5
3.  In the principal Rules, in rule 5, replace paragraph (3) with —
(3)  Subject to rule 6, a person who has been granted admission to the Polytechnic and has complied with rule 4(1) must be registered as a student in the register.”.
Amendment of rule 6
4.  In the principal Rules, in rule 6(1), replace sub‑paragraphs (b) and (c) with —
(b)has in the person’s application for admission under these Rules —
(i)made any statement which is false in a material particular; or
(ii)made or produced, or caused to be made or produced, any false or fraudulent certificate or other academic qualification; or
(c)wilfully neglects or refuses to pay any fee or charge, including a late payment charge, levied by the Polytechnic under rule 4(1) or (2).”.
